Why make this recipe.

This recipe is full of natural whole-foods. It’s raw, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free and refined sugar-free.

I actually really love green smoothies because they’re a brilliantly easy way to get more leafy greens into your diet.

There’s no added sugar in this recipe, only the naturally occurring sugars from the kiwi fruit and banana.

Spinach has a mild taste and mixes easily with fruits in smoothies. In fact, you can’t really taste the spinach so if you’re feeling iffy about drinking greens, give it a shot. You might be surprised.

Mixing greens with fruit helps your body to absorb its nutrients.

What you’ll need.

To make this gorgeous kiwi lime green smoothie recipe you'll need:

Kiwi - full of nutrients including vitamin C, E and K as well as minerals including zinc, calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium.

Spinach - a nutrient rich and a great source of vitamin K as well as vitamins A, C and minerals iron, magnesium and potassium.

Bananas - a good source of vitamin c, potassium and magnesium.

Blender: A high-speed blender will make the creamiest smoothie. If you don’t have one, you can use a regular mixer (with the s-blade).The result won’t be as smooth, but it will still taste delicious!

If you have a handheld blender for soups and the like, this is also a great alternative.

Paring Knife: I like to use a small paring knife for chopping fruit so that it’s less work for my blender to do its job.

How to make this raw smoothie.

Did you know? You can eat the skin on kiwi fruit. If you’d like to keep the skin on then do, just wash them like you would do any other fruit before blending.

Add everything to the blender and blend until completely smooth and creamy.

Pour into glasses to serve. Alternatively, pour into a lidded container and refrigerate until ready to drink.

For a gorgeously cold smoothie use frozen banana and kiwi instead.
