    Why make this recipe

This green smoothie recipe is full of natural sweetness and easy to make with only 3 ingredients, not including the water, which is my liquid of choice.

This smoothie recipe is raw, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free and refined sugar-free. Hemp seeds will add protein, omega-3’s and add to it’s creamy texture.

Green smoothies are known for their nutrient-rich ingredients. I use spinach in this recipe because spinach is light and virtually tasteless when you blend it with fruit. This green smoothie is perfect when craving something sweet and healthy to drink.

How to tell if your mango is ripe

To know if a mango is ripe enough to eat, when you lightly squeeze it there will be some give.

If a mango feels hard all-round, or even on one side, it won't be ripe. Unripened mangoes will not have the tropical sweet and juicy taste we all love.

If mangoes are very soft or squishy when you squeeze them, they’ll be overripe.

    Are spinach smoothies healthy?

Including greens like spinach in your smoothies can be really healthy and it’s a great way to get in more nutrients. I find leafy greens to be very grounding and balancing.

Not only does spinach provide you with vitamins A, C and K, it also contains folate, dietary fibre and minerals iron, calcium and magnesium.

I like to add 2 cups full of spinach to this smoothie as it whips down to nothing very quickly.
